Working: Famine to Feast

Just two short weeks ago I was only working about 4 hours a week. Now I am up to 16 hours a week with 4 more coming in a couple of weeks. This puts me above the amount I need to live comfortably (B30,000) each month. I work 2 hours on Monday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 up the road at Tesco-Lotus (Wal-Mart of Thailand) teaching 5 staff people. Nestle Tuesday through Friday mornings from 7:30 until 9. It takes an hour an a half travel time each way (for which I am reimbursed). On Monday and Wednesday evenings (5 to 7) I teach at On-Lite (just down the road from my apartment). On Tuesday and Thursday evenings I teach at Cannon (about an hour travel time each way from 5:20 until 7:20). This will continue until the end of May (The month and not the girlfriend). Some of the jobs will go into July. By the end of the month I will pick up 4 hours on Saturday afternoons. That will push me above the B40,000 that I feel comfortable with.

Speaking of May, I will be going with her to meet the rest of the family during Songran during the middle of April. It's sort of like Christmas in the West. Everything shuts down. It's the traditional Thai New year. It's the year 2549 (just add 543 to our year and you get there year). Their calendar starts with Buddas birth.
