Happy New Year

Well it appears to be over with May and me. It appears she did not want to take the risk of moving in with me. I am ok with it. We were drifting apart and only seeing each other about twice a month. I have it on good authority that there are other single Thai women out there. However, I went with her and her family to Dreamworld - (a small amusement park about the size of Americana). Saw a few movies - World Trade Center, Departed, Deja Vu and Blood Diamond were the best of the bunch - and do a lot of sleeping and reading.

I have some interesting classes this semester. Society and the Novel, Language through Drama, three levels of reading classes, an English for Social Sciences and a Business English class. The nice thing is that these 7 classes are on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday giving me Wednesday and Friday off. I had to work the major holidays though. Thanksgiving was celebrated with a Turkey Dinner at Bourbon Street (a Cajun restaurant in Bangkok). It is ran by an American from you know where. They served a great barbecue turkey). I was off December 5th for the Kings 79th birthday (also know as Fathers day over here) and the 11th of December to celebrate constitution Day. I had to work Christmas Day but had New Years day off. Classes will finish the 1st part of March. Songran (the Thai New Year) is the middle of April. I am still planning a trip home the last weekend of April for at least two weeks. Classes start June 1st. I am planning to start my Masters degree in November. So you see I am busy over here. Really like working here.

I ran directing two plays in my drama class. One is the "Wizard of Oz" and the other one is "Alice in Wonderland". They are not the full productions but it will be interesting. They will perform them at the founders day celebrations on my birthday.

Visited a couple of sites for the English Camp that is held during the break (it appears like it will be the first of June before school starts.) One site was up in the foothills about a two hour drive from here. The other one is a little resort in Hua Hin right on the gulf. That will be difficult to live at for three days.
